Nice Honor for Trevor Lawrence

Former Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence earned a nice honor after his historic performance against the New York Jets this past Sunday.

Lawrence made NFL history while accounting for six touchdowns and leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 48-20 victory over the Jets in Week 15 of the NFL season.

The former No. 1 overall pick completed 20-of-32 passes for 330 yards and threw a career-high five touchdown passes with no interceptions, while also rushing for 51 yards and another score on five carries. In the process, he became the first player in NFL history with 5+ touchdown passes, 1+ touchdown run and 50+ rushing yards in a single game.

On Wednesday, Lawrence was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week following his incredible game.

From the Jaguars’ official website:

JACKSONVILLE – QB Trevor Lawrence has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after his six-touchdown performance against the New York Jets in Week 15, the NFL announced today. Lawrence finished the game 20-of-32 with 330 passing yards and five passing touchdowns. He also added 51 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. The former first overall selection became the only player in NFL history with five or more passing TDs, one or more rushing TDs, and at least 50 rushing yards in a single game. Lawrence (92) also moved into third place in franchise history in passing touchdowns, ahead of QB David Garrard (89). His 136.7 passer rating set a new single-game career high as well. In Week 15, Lawrence led the AFC in passing yards (330), passing touchdowns (5) and total touchdowns (6).

This marks his fourth Player of the Week honor of his career. He won the award twice in 2022 (Week 3 and Week 14) and once in 2023 (Week 11).

In 14 games this season, Lawrence has completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 3,210 yards and 23 touchdowns with 11 interceptions, while also rushing for 302 yards and six more scores.

Lawrence has now gone three straight games without a turnover for the first time in his five-year NFL career. Over the last three games, the 26-year-old has thrown for 803 yards and nine touchdowns, to go with 92 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Lawrence and the Jaguars (10-4), who have won five straight games and sit atop the AFC South standings, will hit the road to face the 12-2 Denver Broncos this Sunday in Week 16.
