What is the status of starting Clemson defensive tackle Stephiylan Green for the Pinstripe Bowl vs. Penn State, as he deals with an injury?
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked during his press conference Friday if Green will be available for the Pinstripe Bowl.
“We hope so,” Swinney said.
Green has played in 10 games this season, starting six of them. The redshirt sophomore missed the Louisville and Furman games before returning for the rivalry matchup against South Carolina on Nov. 29, when he posted four tackles (0.5 for loss) with a half-sack and a pass breakup.
Overall this season, Green has recorded 25 total tackles (2.5 for loss), 2.5 sacks, a pass breakup and three quarterback pressures.
In his first year at Clemson in 2023, Green played 13 defensive snaps over two games while redshirting. He was a second-team freshman All-American selection by The Athletic during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024, when he was credited with 17 tackles (2.5 for loss), one sack and a pass breakup in 306 defensive snaps over 12 games.
The Pinstripe Bowl is set to kick off at noon Saturday from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and will be televised on ABC.
