Some Portal Names Worth Monitoring for Clemson

With the Clemson football season now officially in the books, full attention now turns towards the transfer portal.

As previously reported by The Clemson Insider, the Tigers plan to be far more active in the portal than they have been in the past.

Dabo Swinney did bring in three players after the 2024 season, but looking at who is set to leave from the current team, it is readily apparent that there are far more holes to fill this time around.

Defensive coordinator Tom Allen has not been coy with some of his comments regarding the program’s need to utilize the portal, and the secondary is expected to be one of the top priorities, particularly at safety.

“Being able to obviously address that through the portal,” Allen said ahead of the Pinstripe Bowl. “I just think that is an obvious thing we are going to need to do at multiple positions.”

With the portal set to open on Friday, expect things to move quickly. While portal recruiting is always fluid, with things sometimes changing on a whim, TCI wanted to pass along some names worth keeping an eye on.

  • Southern Miss S Cory Myrick
  • Memphis DB Chris Bracy
  • FSU DB Ashlynd Barker
  • FSU DB Edwin Joseph
  • Memphis DB Chris Bracy
  • App State S DJ Burks
  • Cincinnati DB Jiquan Sanks
  • Cincinnati DB Christian Harrison
  • Youngstown State DB Makai Shahid
  • Kansas S Lyrik Rawls
  • Toledo S Braden Awls
  • South Alabama S Ty Goodwill
  • Southwest Minnesota State DB Parker Nutson

Clemson also has immediate needs at several other positions. With four starters set to depart from the offensive line, expect the staff to try and add there as well. The defensive line is also expected to get some reinforcements.

Here are a few other names worth tracking at some of those other positions. Again, just some of the players worth watching.

  • New Hampshire OT Tolu Olajide
  • Arizona State OT Josh Atkins
  • Cincinnati OL Ethan Green
  • Tennessee Tech DB Toby Bolton
  • Tennessee DL Jamal Wallace

One of the biggest questions surrounding Clemson’s portal strategy centers on the quarterback. Will Dabo Swiney ride with Chris Vizzina, who has patiently waited his turn for three years? Or will the head coach tap into the portal to bring in a veteran to lead his offense in 2026?

No names to pass along there just yet, but stay tuned to TCI for all of the latest.
