CLEMSON — Clemson is playing host to another portal visitor.
The Clemson Insider has confirmed that Iowa Western Community College portal defensive tackle Andy Burburija will be on campus on Thursday. He went public with an offer from the Tigers on Wednesday. Burburija’s reps also told TCI that he plans to get to Nebraska after the visit to Clemson.
Offers from Michigan State, Arkansas, Purdue, Iowa State and Texas Tech were also announced.
The 6-foot-2, 295-pounder totaled 45 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and one forced fumble in helping lead his team to the JUCO national title game.
Burburija originally signed with Kansas State, but was released from his National Letter of Intent after head coach Chris Klieman stepped down.
247 ranks Burburija as the sixth-best JUCO defensive lineman in the class.
The Tigers have already landed seven portal players this week, with all seven coming on the defensive side of the ball. Two of those have been defensive tackles, and the staff is looking to add at least one more to the fold.
Clemson has yet to sign a JUCO player in the Dabo Swinney era.
