One of Clemson’s portal targets won’t make it to campus.
Kansas transfer safety Lyrik Rawls has committed to Arizona State. He was scheduled to visit Clemson January 10-11 and was at Arizona State earlier this week.
Rawls started all 12 games at safety for the Jayhawks as a redshirt senior in 2025 and ranked second on the team in total tackles with 73. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder recorded 57 solo tackles and 16 assists on the season, along with 1.0 tackles for loss, one interception and seven pass breakups.
Among Clemson’s eight portal additions to this point, two have been safeties, with Corey Myrick and Jerome Carter III both signing this week. The staff is still looking to possibly add at least one more player at the position.
