A couple of days after citing Clemson among his favorite potential transfer destinations, a portal defensive back announced he is headed to play in the SEC.
Former East Carolina standout DB Ja’Marley Riddle announced Friday he has committed to Georgia. On Wednesday, he named Clemson as one of the schools that were standing out, along with Miami, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Riddle never made a visit to Clemson.
In his two seasons at ECU, Riddle tallied 134 tackles (7.5 for loss), six interceptions and 16 passes defended over 26 games.
The 6-foot, 182-pounder was a first-team All-American Conference selection this past season, when he recorded 70 tackles (4.0 for loss), three interceptions, nine passes defended and a fumble recovery.
Riddle was a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class coming out of Camden County High School in Kingsland, Ga.
Clemson has landed eight portal players this week, with all of them coming on the defensive side of the ball, including four defensive backs – Donovan Starr (Auburn), Jerome Carter (Old Dominion), Corey Myrick (Southern Miss) and Elliot Washington (Penn State).
