Coaches Visit With Elite-Level Target

With the transfer portal window now closed, the Clemson coaching staff has turned its attention towards the 2027 recruiting class.

Numerous members of the staff have been out on the road visiting with high school prospects, with offensive line coach Matt Luke making stops in several different states.

Luke, along with head coach Dabo Swinney, made a stop in to see five-star offensive line target Maxwell Hiller (Coatesville Area, PA) this week. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers last summer. He was named a Junior All-American by MaxPreps in 2025.

Back in the summer, Hiller released a list of favorites that included Clemson, Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.

Hiller is expected to visit Florida this weekend, and has already locked in one official visit to South Carolina in June.

Hiller currently sports more than 30 offers. 247 ranks him No. 4 overall, regardless of position, and as the top interior lineman in the class. He also ranks No. 1 in his state.
