Clemson Commit Reaffirms Pledge to Tigers

Max Brown is leaving no doubt when it comes to the strength of his commitment to Clemson.

The three-star linebacker took to social media on Wednesday to officially pronounce that his recruitment is shut down.

“Was never a doubt, but just had to make it official,” Brown posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Brown, who is the younger brother of current linebacker Sammy Brown, committed to the Tigers back in the summer, going public with an announcement just days after picking up one of the opening offers to 2027 prospects.

Brown told The Clemson Insider that with all the publicity surrounding Ole Miss poaching portal signee Luke Ferrelli, he wanted to make sure it was clear where he stood.

“With all the stir lately, I just wanted to solidify my commitment and reassure that I’m all in,” Brown said.

After being named a preseason All-American by MaxPreps, Brown missed most of his junior season with a knee injury, but was expecting to be fully cleared to resume football activities sometime this month.

As a sophomore in 2024, he totaled 152 total tackles, averaging more than 10 stops per game. He added 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

Brown was on hand for most home games in 2025 and will be back on campus for the Elite Retreat on March 7.
