Clemson appears to be out of the running for an elite-level target.
Five-star DE Anthony Sweeney (Good Counsel, MD) released his Top 12 schools late Tuesday, with the Tigers not making the list. Defensive ends coach Chris Rumph was just in to visit with Sweeney last week.
Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Oregon, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, Maryland and Texas Tech all made the initial cut.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect announced his offer from Clemson back in October. He attends the same high school that produced current Clemson DE Darien Mayo and current LB CJ Kubah-Taylor.
