Clemson Coaches Visit 5-Star Prospect

With the contact period ending on Saturday, the Clemson coaching staff is starting to wrap up visits with recruits.

Dabo Swinney and several of his assistants have been burning up the frequent flyer miles throughout the month of January, checking in on top prospects.

On Thursday, Swinney, along with cornerbacks coach Mike Reed, was in to see five-star defensive back Josh Dobson. The in-state talent was the first player in the 2027 class to go public with an offer last summer.

This marked the second time Reed was in to see the blue-chip talent over the past couple of weeks. The veteran assistant did an in-home with Dobson earlier in the month.

Unsurprisingly, Dobson has been quite popular, also getting visits from coaches at South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M, Texas, Michigan, LSU, Penn State, Miami, North Carolina, Norte Dame and Florida. He has also taken a January visit to Auburn and he will be in Baton Rouge this weekend.

Dobson recently announced plans to transfer from Catawba Ridge, located in Fort Mill, to William Amos Hough in North Carolina for his final high school season.

The 247 Composite Rankings slot Dobson No. No. 3 overall, No. 1 among all corners in the class and No. 1 in the state of South Carolina.
