With both the December early signing period and the February signing period in the books, On3/Rivals published a list of instant impact 2026 signees who are “best situated to make an instant impact on Saturdays next fall as true freshmen.”
Among those on the list is Clemson wide receiver Naeem Burroughs, who signed with Clemson in December and enrolled in January.
He joined the Tigers as a consensus four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class according to Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN. Rivals ranks him as the nation’s No. 42 overall prospect and the eighth-best wide receiver in his class.
“Naeem Burroughs has the skillset and athletic ability to walk and become an instant impact role player at the collegiate level,” Rivals national scout Cody Bellaire wrote. “Given that Clemson has a lineage of pass catchers that have had dominant freshman seasons it’s easy to see how Burroughs could have every opportunity to do the same. With Antonio Williams heading to the NFL Draft, there is a possibility that Burroughs could walk into an opportunity to compete for the number three receiver spot alongside Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore. Burroughs’ speed and ability to create with the ball in his hands is too dangerous to keep on the sideline as he is very likely to be one of the most dynamic offensive players on the entire roster.”
A product of The Bolles School (Jacksonville, Fla.), Burroughs entered the early signing period with 163 career receptions for 3,614 yards and 49 touchdown receptions. He was also credited with 649 yards on kickoff returns, 301 yards on punt returns and 17 interception return yards for a career all-purpose yardage total of 4,590.
Burroughs exceeded 650 all-purpose yards in all four years of his high school career, including reaching the 1,110-yard mark in each of his last three seasons.
Burroughs, who was also a two-time track state champion in the 4×100 relay, committed to Clemson back on March 8, 2025.
Back in September, ESPN pegged Burroughs as the Tigers’ most exciting recruit in the 2026 class.
