Elite Retreat Will Mark First Visit for Georgia RB

We have a new name to add to the guest list for Clemson’s Elite Retreat.

Running back Gary Walker (Creekside, GA) tells The Clemson Insider that he plans to be on hand for the event. This will mark Walker’s first visit. Last week, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound back revealed his plans to be at the big official visit weekend from May 29-31.

Walker told TCI he started hearing from members of the coaching staff late last year, culminating in a visit to his school by running backs coach C.J. Spiller in January.

“Clemson has been proactive in communication with me, my coaches and parents,” Walker said. “The entire staff has been involved.”

Walker rushed for 1,669 yards with 20 touchdowns as a junior, helping lead his team to a 4A state title. While the Tigers have yet to offer, it’s a safe bet that changes once he gets on campus.

“I would be blessed, thankful and honored,” Walker added.

Four-star prospects Tre Segarra and Andrew Beard are the only backs in the 2027 class to currently hold offers from the Tigers.

“(Looking for) an opportunity to observe the culture and atmosphere of the college and the program,” Walker said of his visit for the Elite Retreat.

Right now, Clemson is the only spring visit Walker has planned, but he has already scheduled several official visits.
