Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell spoke with reporters on Thursday at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Terrell touched on a number of different topics, including how his game differs from his brother – Atlanta Falcons cornerback and former Clemson star A.J. Terrell.
Avieon said there’s not much difference between them, with the exception of their size.
“We both dawgs,” Avieon said. “I tell him all the time, I want the ball more. We have battles in the summer, who gonna get the ball more? So, I feel like I get the ball more than him.”
“But ain’t no real difference,” Terrell added. “He’s just bigger.”
Avieon stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, while A.J. is listed at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds.
Avieon mentioned getting the ball, and he certainly did that a lot during his time at Clemson. The two-time All-ACC selection set Clemson records for a defensive back in forced fumbles in a season (five in 2025) and a career (eight), and he led all cornerbacks nationally in forced fumbles across his three-year Clemson career. He also came up with three career fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Along with those forced fumbles, fumble recoveries and picks, Avieon — a 2025 All-American and Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist — was credited with 128 tackles (nine for loss), 30 pass breakups and four sacks across 39 games (31 starts) in his career as a Tiger from 2023-25.
Avieon is frequently projected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which is set to take place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. A.J. was also a first-round pick, with the Falcons selecting him 16th overall in 2020.
Longtime ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Avieon as the third-best cornerback in this year’s draft class.
