The Clemson women’s basketball team picked up a road win in the penultimate game of the season, defeating California 70-63 at Haas Pavilion on Thursday night in Berkeley, Calif.
The Tigers (20-9, 11-6 ACC) earned their 20th win of the season for the first time since 2018-19 and reached 11 ACC wins for the first time since the 1998-99 season.
Some wondered how Clemson would handle its success following their win over No. 9 Duke on Sunday. They were fine, as the Tigers never trailed at Cal.

Offensively, Clemson was led by senior forward Raven Thompson, who scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds en route to her first double-double on the season. Senior guard Mia Moore led the Tigers with 21 points, while also racking up four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Junior Rusne Augustinaite finished the day with 15 points after scoring the game’s first three baskets. Senior guard Taylor Johnson-Matthews had 14 points of her own. As a team, Clemson shot 52 percent from the field, marking the 10th time this season the Tigers have made at least half of their field goal attempts and the first time since Feb. 8 against Boston College.
The Golden Bears (17-13, 8-9 ACC) were led by Lulu Twidale’s game-high 23 points and Gisella Maul’s 18 points and eight rebounds.
