One day before the big Elite Retreat, Clemson will have several recruits on campus for Friday’s spring practice.
Four-star OL Q’Mari Hudson will make his first visit to campus. Offensive line coach Matt Luke was in to see Hudson back in January, and that is when he announced the visit.
Hudson has more than a dozen offers, including Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, Pitt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Coaches from most of those schools, and members of the Virginia staff, have visited him during the contact period.
Rivals ranks Hudson No. 194 overall, No. 18 among all tackles in the 2027 class and No. 4 in his state.
Three-star WR Namajay Thompson will also be on hand. The 6-foot wideout has seen his recruitment really take off in recent weeks, with North Carolina, NC State, Florida, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Michigan State all offering last month. The Tigers have yet to offer.
As a junior, Thompson had 53 catches for 865 yards with 14 touchdowns, earning all-conference honors.
Three-star CB Micah Fleming will also visit. Fleming has close to two dozen offers, including Indiana, Oregon, Southern Cal, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
2028 five-star safety Giovanni Tuggle will be on hand. Tuggle is quickly approaching the 20-offer mark. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder added offers from North Carolina, Louisville and Indiana last month, to go along with other offers that include Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas, among others.
Tuggle ranks No. 10 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings and is slotted as the top safety in his class
In-state 2028 RB Michael Martin II is set to return for the second time this week. Martin has been a frequent visitor. He was on hand for most of the home games last season and was back for a practice on Monday. Prep Red Zone ranks him as the top running back in his class.
