Clemson Baseball Climbs in National Rankings

A red-hot Clemson team continued to rise in the latest college baseball rankings, released Monday.

The highest ranking for Clemson (15-1) is in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division I poll, where the Tigers moved up from No. 10 to No. 8.

In the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll, Clemson climbed three spots to No. 9, while the Tigers vaulted up eight spots to No. 11 in the Perfect Game Top 25.

As for the D1Baseball Top 25, Clemson jumped from No. 14 to No. 11. Meanwhile, Clemson is now No. 12 in the Baseball America Top 25 after previously being ranked No. 15.

Clemson, which has won seven straight games, is coming off a four-game sweep of La Salle at home last weekend by a combined score of 52-12.

The Tigers are averaging 8.3 runs per game and hitting .325 with a .536 slugging percentage, .435 on-base percentage and 21 steals, while the pitching staff has a 1.91 ERA, .165 opponents’ batting average and 4.26 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and Clemson is fielding .964.

Clemson has six run-rule wins this year, including four in the last five games. The Tigers hit .389 with a .646 slugging percentage and .544 on-base percentage in the four-game series against La Salle.

Clemson returns to action on Tuesday when the Tigers travel to North Augusta, S.C. to take on Georgia Southern at SRP Park. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.

Freshman righthander Eston Simpson, who sports a 3-0 record with a 0.90 ERA, will take the ball as the starting pitcher for Clemson against Georgia Southern lefty Carter DeGondea.

Clemson leads the all-time series against Georgia Southern, 61-30-1, including an 8-0 neutral-site record. The Tigers have a 2-1 all-time record at SRP Park and most recently outlasted Georgia Southern 10-8 at SRP Park on April 1, 2025.
