Clemson Women are in ‘Big Dance’

CLEMSON — The Clemson women’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in the last 25 years and the program’s first in seven years. It is also the Tigers’ first appearance under head coach Shawn Poppie, who took over the program two years ago.

Clemson (21-11) will play No. 9 seed Southern Call in the Columbia Regional on Saturday in Columbia, S.C. The Tigers will be a No. 8 in Regional 4. The Tigers potentially could play top seed South Carolina in the second round.

This will be the Tigers’ 17th NCAA appearance overall.

On Sunday marks the first time in 28 years that both the men’s and women’s teams at Clemson have played in the NCAA tournament and the sixth time in program history that both programs have played in the NCAA tournament in the same season (1988-89, 1989-90, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98 and 2025-26).
