Clemson is about to get one of its top running back targets on campus for a second time this spring.
Four-star Andrew Beard (Bogart, GA) tells The Clemson Insider he plans to visit on Sunday. Beard was on campus for the Elite Retreat close to two weeks ago. That visit was his first time getting to meet new offensive coordinator Chad Morris in person. He’s also already locked in plans to be at the big official visit weekend from May 29-31.
“I feel like, right now, for me, Clemson is definitely in my top two,” Beard told TCI last week. “Just because of the relationship I have built with Coach Morris over the past couple of months. And seeing the practice, how they use the running backs, and how versatile he is as a play caller. I feel like that is the main part of it and why Clemson is so high for me.”
Clemson isn’t the only stop Beard will make this weekend. He plans to be at Georgia on Friday, and he will hit Tennessee on Saturday. It is worth noting that Georgia already has two running backs committed in the 2027 class, including five-star Kemon Bell, the top-rated back in the country.
As a junior, Beard rushed for close to 1,300 yards with 13 touchdowns. He went over 100 yards six times and averaged 7.8 yards per carry. He also reeled in 31 receptions for 450 yards, with five touchdown grabs.
He ranks No. 151 overall and No. 7 among all running backs in the class per the Rivals Industry Rankings.
