Clemson baseball has lost arguably its biggest commitment in the 2027 class.
SS/RHP Chubb Jones Jr. (McEachern, GA) flipped his commitment from the Tigers to Alabama late Wednesday. He originally committed to Clemson last November.
“Roll Tide,” Jones posted on X.
Baseball America ranks Jones, whose fastball has already been clocked as high as 97 mph, as one of the ten-best players in the class, and he scores a grade of 10 at Perfect Game.
With Jones being such a highly touted prospect, there was always some question as to whether he’d ever make it to campus. He could easily head off to the professional ranks straight out of high school.
