Brownell Adds 2 New Assistant Coaches

CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Brad Brownell has added two more assistant coaches to his staff.

The Clemson Insider was able to confirm through multiple sources on Friday that Clemson will hire Minnesota’s Chad Warner and Cincinnati’s Andre Morgan to finalize Brownell’s staff. Warner and Morgan will replace Billy Donlon and Dick Bender as assistant coaches, TCI was told.

Donlon, of course, is the new head coach at Eastern Michigan, while Bender announced his retirement from coaching earlier this week.

TCI reported on Thursday that College of Charleston assistant coach Chris Harriman is also joining Brownell’s staff, as he replaces Jeff Reynolds. He is also retiring after spending 40 years as a basketball coach, including three stints as a head coach.

Reynolds spent the last five seasons as the team’s special assistant to the head coach.

Morgan has been a member of the Cincinnati staff the last six seasons, where he worked on Wes Miller’s staff. Miller was let go after the Bearcats failed to make the NCAA Tournament this year. He was also Miller’s recruiting coordinator.

Warner comes to Clemson from Minnesota, where he was an assistant coach for one season. Before Minnesota, he was an assistant coach at Furman for three years, the first two as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate coach prior to the 2024-25 campaign.

TCI was told all three coaches will be officially hired to Brownell’s staff next week, pending Clemson University’s and the Board of Trustees’ approval.
