During the Orange squad’s 23-3 win over the White team in Clemson’s 2026 spring game at Memorial Stadium on March 28, the Tigers’ quarterbacks, across both teams, combined to go 25-of-45 for 215 passing yards with two touchdowns through the air and another score on the ground.
For the Orange team, redshirt junior Christopher Vizzina went 10-of-18 passing for 95 yards and threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to true freshman wide receiver Gordon Sellars III in the second quarter. Vizzina also ran twice for 14 yards.
Meanwhile, true freshman Tait Reynolds played for both teams, and between the two sides, the Queen Creek, Arizona native was 7-for-10 for 74 yards. He also ran for a 1-yard touchdown for the Orange team in the second quarter.
Following the spring game, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney provided clarity on the Tigers’ quarterback battle, saying that heading into the summer, Vizzina remains the QB1, while Reynolds has emerged as the No. 2 quarterback. Swinney says those two guys have clearly separated themselves in the QB race to this point, and Swinney readily admitted that Reynolds has a shot at pushing for the starting job.
