A former Clemson standout in the NBA is out indefinitely with an injury.
Charlotte Hornets big man and former Clemson star PJ Hall has been diagnosed with a right ankle fracture, and there is no timetable for his return, according to Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer. Boone reported that Hall was in a walking boot this past Thursday.
The Hornets recalled Hall from the G League’s Greensboro Swarm on April 1. In 12 games for Charlotte this season (two starts), Hall has averaged 6.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in 15.6 minutes per game.
Hall’s most recent NBA action came back on Feb. 22. The 24-year-old has shined while playing with the Swarm, averaging 18.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 23 games (29.6 minutes per game).

Hall signed a two-way contract with the Hornets on Dec. 24, 2025. A second-year pro, he was previously with the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-way contract earlier this season prior to being waived on Nov. 16.
Hall was not drafted in 2024 but instead signed a two-way contract with Denver. He was released by the Nuggets in June 2025.
Hall has appeared in 38 NBA games over two seasons, including 19 with Denver in 2024-25, seven with the Grizzlies this season and his 12 with the Hornets this season.
Hall became just the 14th player in Clemson men’s basketball history to earn first-team All-ACC honors in 2023-24. He averaged 18.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game that season, on his way to Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention honors. His 659 points set the school record for points in a season. Hall finished his career in the top 10 of Clemson’s all-time scoring list (1,702 points).
