Clemson Suffers First 2027 Decommitment

Clemson has lost one of its 2027 pledges.

Three-star safety Seth Williams told The Clemson Insider that he has decommitted after having just announced a verbal pledge in late March while on a visit to Clemson.

Williams also told TCI that he still plans to take an official visit to Clemson May 29-31. However, he also said he wants to take other visits, too. Vanderbilt and Penn State are now set to get officials, as well. He is fresh off an unofficial to Georgia Tech.

Williams hails from Lakeside High School in Atlanta. As a junior in 2025, he recorded 73 tackles, two interceptions, five tackles for loss, one forced fumble and five pass breakups, to go with 10 receptions for 222 yards and three touchdowns.

Clemson now goes back to having six commitments in the 2027 class that includes four-star linebacker Bryce Kish, four-star receiver Trey Wimbley, three-star linebacker Max Brown, four-star quarterback Kharim Hughley, three-star safety Harrison Luke and three-star cornerback Christian “PJ” Chancellor Jr.
