Top Recruiting Target Returning, More Weekend Notes

One of Clemson’s top recruiting targets is set to be back on campus.

Three-star in-state DT Jaden Wuerth (Dutch Fork) tells The Clemson Insider he will visit on Saturday for the Spring Elite Day.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound prospect has visited multiple times in the past, including the Elite Retreat in March.

“Right now, Clemson is at the very top for me,” Wuerth told TCI last month. “It is just the welcoming feel. I have not been anywhere yet that feels like Clemson does. I feel like I will be set up to succeed not only football-wise but also outside of football. They will turn me into a great person and a great football player.”

Wuerth officially picked up his offer back in January after an extremely productive junior campaign that saw him total 62 tackles with 18 tackles for loss in helping the Silver Foxes to another state title. He also had 14 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Wuerth is scheduled to be at the big official visit weekend, May 29-31, with NC State (May 8-10) and Virginia Tech (June 5-7) also set to get officials. He also said he’s considering giving South Carolina one of his officials, but has yet to lock that one in.

Another frequent visitor is set to return this weekend. 2028 three-star in-state RB Michael Martin II (Christ Church) will also be on hand on Saturday, marking his fourth visit to campus this spring.

“It’s just like home at this point,” Martin told TCI.

Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke have all gotten recent visits.

As a sophomore, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound recruit rushed for more than 1,400 yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and scoring 30 rushing touchdowns, while earning 3A all-state honors.
