TCI Recruiting Roundup: Latest On 5-Star Target

Another high-profile recruiting target continues to trend away from Clemson.

Five-star cornerback Josh Dobson (Hough, NC), who was the first member of the 2027 class to go public with an offer, has locked in dates for several official visits. It does not appear that Clemson will get one.

Dobson announced on Monday that he will be at Auburn, May 29-31, which happens to coincide with the Tigers’ big weekend. Clemson will also host a handful of targets on officials, June 12-14, but Dobson will be at LSU that weekend.

Official Visit Schedule

  • Auburn: May 29-31
  • Texas A&M: June 5-7
  • LSU: June 12-14
  • South Carolina: June 19-21

Dobson began his high school career at Catawba Ridge in Fort Mill, but will play his senior season at William Amos Hough in North Carolina.

Clemson made his first top schools list last fall, and he was on hand for the season-opener against LSU before returning for the Elite Retreat in March.

Dobson ranks No. 11 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings and No. 2 among all corners in the class.

The Tigers already hold a commitment from three-star legacy recruit Christian Chancellor, with four-star Jayden Aparicio-Bailey and four-star Kei’Shjuan Telfair both scheduled to be on hand for the big official visit weekend.
