One of Clemson’s top tight end targets has committed elsewhere.
Milton (Ga.) four-star Grant Haviland gave his verbal pledge to Vanderbilt on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder chose the Commodores over his list of finalists that also included Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia and Tennessee.
Haviland is the No. 13 tight end and No. 275 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Haviland picked up his offer from Clemson last summer after working out at camp and is currently one of only three players at the position to hold an offer from the Tigers. He was last on campus for the Elite Retreat in March.
As a junior in 2025, Haviland had 24 catches for 343 yards with four touchdowns.
