CLEMSON — Thanks to Thursday’s win at Florida State, the Clemson Lacrosse team earned the No. 3 seed in this year’s ACC Tournament. The ninth ranked Tigers beat FSU, 16-7, at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers (13-4, 7-3 ACC) earned their 50th win in program history and extended their program-record win streak to 10 games.
Four Clemson performers recorded a hat trick, led by freshman attack Marleigh O’Day with four goals. The trio of junior midfielder Natalie Shurtleff, sophomore attack Brook Goldstein, and junior attack Regan Byrne each netted three goals apiece.
Freshman attack Alexa Spallina recorded a team-best four assists for the Tigers. Graduate midfielder Maddigan Miller had three caused turnovers. Sophomore defender Kira Balis recorded eight draw controls, and Shurtleff added six.
The Tigers are set to face No. 6 seed Notre Dame (12-4, 6-4 ACC) in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday, April 22 at 8 p.m. The ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship will take place from April 22-26 in Charlotte, N.C., at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
