For the second time this week, a Clemson tight end target has committed elsewhere.
Three-star Tommy Douglas (Hun School, NJ) announced a commitment to Florida on Thursday. This comes just two days after four-star Grant Haviland committed to Vanderbilt.
Douglas just picked up his offer from the Tigers back in early March.
As a junior, Douglas reeled in 33 catches for 640 yards with seven touchdown grabs.
247 Sports ranks the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder as the 17th-best tight end in the class.
Clemson typically takes one tight end each recruiting cycle, and tight ends coach Kyle Richardson has generally had a lot of success landing one of his top targets who get the first offers. It hasn’t been very often that he’s had to expand his board.
Clemson has only offered three players at the position to this point in the cycle, with four-star Jaxon Dollar now being the only uncommitted target with an offer.
