Miller Pegged as ‘Red Star’ Draft Prospect

NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks dove into the 2026 NFL Draft class, breaking down who he views as All-Pro and Pro Bowl-caliber prospects, along with five he sees as overachievers.

Brooks named Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller among those overachievers – also known as “red star” prospects, as Brooks explained:

On the “Move the Sticks” podcast, Daniel Jeremiah and I have previously discussed how scouts will stand on the table for guys they believe will outperform their draft status. In the scouting world, these players are called “red star” guys because they are destined to make their mark in the league, regardless of their surrounding circumstances.

Here’s what Brooks – a former NFL player and scout – had to say about the 6-foot-7, 317-pound Miller:

The talented technician enters the league with 54 career starts and 3,778 offensive snaps on his résumé. As a team captain with polished footwork and nearly flawless fundamentals, Miller is a mature player with the traits and intangibles to step in as a Day 1 starter. Additionally, he brings a scheme-friendly game, enabling him to seamlessly transition into zone-based or gap scheme systems. Given how hard it is to find plug-and-play edge blockers in any class, Miller’s experience, consistency and tenacity give him a chance to make a 10-year run as a starter.

Miller broke the Clemson record for career snaps from scrimmage with his 3,778 offensive snaps over 54 career games from 2022-25.

A hard-nosed iron man, Miller started every game Clemson played in his entire four-year career and also set the Clemson record for consecutive starts by a non-specialist with 54.

He followed his 2022 freshman All-American season with three consecutive All-ACC seasons and joined Mitch Hyatt (four), Jeb Flesch (three) and Tyrone Crowder (three) as the fourth offensive lineman in school history to be a three-time All-ACC honoree.

The 2026 NFL Draft is set to be held from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. The latest mock draft from Brooks has Miller going in the first round to the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 23 overall pick.

Along with Brooks, NFL Network draft guru and former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah is among those who are high on Miller. Jeremiah ranks Miller as the No. 19 overall prospect in this year’s draft class.

Miller isn’t the only Clemson draft prospect who drew a mention from Brooks. He also named Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods among the 2026 draft prospects who project as Pro Bowlers.
