Clemson already has two linebackers committed in the 2027 class, but there’s a possibility a third could be added.
One option worth keeping an eye on is three-star Ethan Hauser (Buford, GA), who was brought in for the Spring Elite Day earlier this month. It was Hauser’s first recruiting visit to Clemson.
“The visit was really solid,” Hauser told The Clemson Insider. “The main thing that stood out to me was PAW Journey and how they really pour into the players. It’s not all football. And the staff, how many former players that are on the staff, also stood out to me. Being able to ask them questions about what it meant to be a Clemson Tiger was definitely a good resource to have. The campus was beautiful, and everybody was extremely hospitable. We were showed to a great time.”
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker also enjoyed Dabo Swinney’s presentation to the group of recruits on hand.
“We got a good speech from Coach Swinney,” Hauser said. “He was talking about all the stats and things with Clemson. It was great stuff to hear.”
However, it was his time with linebackers coach Ben Boulware that really resonated.
“He has great energy. He kept me drawn in the whole visit,” Hauser said. “As far as my recruitment, he is just keeping me on my toes. Obviously, I don’t hold an offer from Clemson, but he is showing interest in me.”
Hauser just started hearing from the Clemson coaching staff about a month ago. While he has yet to pick up an offer, he’s certainly willing to let things play out and see where they go. At the same time, Hauser is planning on announcing a commitment on June 27, after his official visits, so timing will be a factor.
Right now, Hauser has three official visits scheduled. He goes to Vanderbilt first, May 28-31. Then he heads to Missouri (June 5-7), before finishing with Michigan (June 19-21).
Hauser would be willing to look at the possibility of setting one with Clemson if the option presents itself.
“They asked me about my OV’s on the visit,” Hauser added. “They are just trying to build with me right now, with them just getting to know me. Whether they are going to ask me down in the future or not, that is yet to come. I am definitely open to it. Just want to see where it goes with Clemson. I am getting towards the end of my recruitment, so whatever they feel about me, I will feel it out. I know how Clemson operates. I am just being patient with everything.”
If an offer were to come, Hauser surely would be grateful.
“It would definitely feel really good,” he said. “Just seeing my work pay off. But whatever God holds for me.”
