CLEMSON — Clemson had another player selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Peter Woods, a defensive tackle, was selected No. 29 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the draft on Thursday, which is being held in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Woods is the second former Tiger selected in the first round of this year’s draft. Joining offensive tackle Blake Miller, who went No. 17 overall to the Detroit Lions earlier in the night.
The Clemson defensive tackle was a second-team All-American in 2025, the first defensive tackle since Christian Wilkins in 2018 to earn All-American status at Clemson.
Woods was credited with 99 tackles (14.5 for loss), 5.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups in his 35-game college career.
A First-Team All-ACC selection this past season, as well, Woods was credited by the coaching staff with 40 tackles (3.5 for loss), two sacks and two pass breakups in 554 defensive snaps, while starting all 12 games.
Doing his best William Perry impression, Woods also rushed eight times for 15 yards, two touchdowns and an additional four first downs in 13 offensive snaps.
The 2025 season was Woods best season as a Tiger. However, he was a Freshman All-American in 2023 and was named Freshman Interior Defender of the Year by College Football Network.
