TCI Recruiting Roundup: Update on Priority RB Target

With the big official visit weekend rapidly approaching, the Clemson coaching staff has zeroed in two top running back targets.

One of those is four-star Andrew Beard (Price Avenue Christian, GA), who became the second 2027 back to pick up an offer from the Tigers back in January. The 5-foot-10, 198-pound back made two visits to Clemson during the spring, including for the Elite Retreat.

Last week, running backs coach C.J. Spiller was in to visit with Beard at his high school. While no date has been set as of yet, Beard is expecting Spiller to return and do an in-home visit at some point in the near future.

Beard is scheduled to be back on campus for an official visit, May 29-31.

“I feel like, right now, for me, Clemson is definitely in my top two,” Beard told TCI last month. “Just because of the relationship I have built with Coach (Chad) Morris over the past couple of months. And seeing the practice, how they use the running backs, and how versatile he is as a play caller. I feel like that is the main part of it and why Clemson is so high for me.”

The Rivals Industry Rankings slot Beard No. 165 overall and No. 9 among all running backs in the 2027 class.
