And then there were four.
Four-star offensive lineman Carter Jones (Posquon, VA) released his four finalists on Sunday, with Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee and Georgia each making the cut.
Jones has been one of the Tigers’ top offensive line targets in this recruiting cycle. He has visited multiple times over the past 18 months, with the most recent coming for the Elite Retreat in March.
“They are super-high, they are at the top of my list,” Jones told TCI after the March visit. “One of my favorite schools for sure. It is the culture, and it is Coach Luke’s development and ability to get players into the NFL. That is really big for me. The development piece mixed in with the culture. Because I will develop not only as a football player but also a man.”
The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder has already started taking his official visits. He was at Penn State on April 10 and Georgia on April 7. He will be at Tennessee and May 21 and Clemson gets the last crack during the big official visit weekend, May 29-31.
