Defensive end is certainly a position of need for Clemson seeing as Will Heldt and Jaheim Lawson are both entering their final seasons.
The Tigers did add a couple of pieces at the position out of the portal, including underclassman London Merritt, who has a ton of upside, but hitting on one or two quality ends in the current recruiting cycles is certainly on the to-do list for the 2027 class.
One of the targets is four-star Santana Harvey (Lakeland, FL). The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder picked up an offer from the Tigers in January. He has been on campus several times now, including the Elite Retreat in March.
Defensive ends coach Chris Rumph was in to see Harvey on Tuesday, and the blue-chip talent is expected to attend the big official visit weekend, May 29-31. Notre Dame, Florida State and Georgia Tech are also scheduled to get official visits.
“It is just the family aspect,” Harvey previously told TCI. “They make me feel like family when I come. Plus, Coach Rumph is kind of like a father figure. I look at Coach Rumph in that way. He is a really great guy. He is another big reason I am so high on Clemson. The relationship is great. Ever since I met him, it has just taken off from there.”
247 ranks Harvey No. 132 overall and No. 15 among all edge rushers.
If the Tigers were to expand the board again at offensive line, three-star Stafford Willis (Arab, AL) is a name worth keeping an eye on. Willis visited Clemson late last month.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder has close to 30 offers and has officials set with South Carolina, UCLA, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.
Offensive line coach Matt Luke did an in-home visit with Willis late last week.
