Clemson is among the finalists for one of the top linebackers in the 2027 class.
Four-star Roman Igwebuike of Mount Carmel High School in Illinois named the Tigers as one of his final five schools on Thursday.
Indiana, Missouri, Notre Dame and Tennessee also made the short list for the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder.
Igwebuike announced an offer from Clemson when he was on campus for the Elite Retreat in early March. He is scheduled to be at the Tigers’ big official visit weekend, May 29-31.
Igwebuike is the No. 149 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the 247 Sports Composite, which touts him as the No. 13 linebacker in the country for his class. He owns more than 40 offers, with Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Southern Cal, Indiana and Oregon just some of the schools to have offered.
Igwebuike had a monster junior season that saw him help lead his team to a state title. He finished with a team-high 115 tackles, while adding 13.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups.
