Another Clemson recruiting target is ready to shut things down.
Four-star safety Jarrell Chandler (Halls, TN) will announce a commitment on May 18. Clemson, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Miami are the four finalists.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder picked up his offer from the Tigers back in January, before attending the Elite Retreat in March. Jarrell has also been scheduled to be at the big official weekend,, May 29-31.
“They think I can grow into a linebacker or play safety,” Chandler told TCI after picking up his offer. “They explained to me that the way the defense works is that they teach everything the same way. I could be playing safety and roll down to play WILL.”
Chandler plays both ways at the high school level. As a defender last season, he totaled 94 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one interception, eight passes defended and three forced fumbles. On the offensive side, he reeled in 42 catches for 691 yards with seven touchdowns.
Rivals ranks Chandler No. 91 overall and No. 6 among all safeties in the 2027 class.
