Clemson Lands Portal Commitment

Clemson has added one more piece to its roster from the transfer portal.

Texas State transfer defensive lineman Devarrick Woods announced a commitment to Clemson on Tuesday morning. Florida State, Florida, NC State and Colorado were some of the other schools involved.

Woods entered the portal back in January but wasn’t granted another year of eligibility until April. While there is no spring portal window currently, teams can still add players from the portal.

Woods played 11 games with the Bobcats last season, recording 16 tackles with one sack. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder has one more season he can play.

In 2024, Woods was a first-team All-MACCC selection at Hinds Community College after notching 43 tackles with seven tackles for loss, four sacks and three pass breakups.

With the addition of Woods, Clemson has now added 11 portal players to the roster since the end of last season, with 10 of those coming on the defensive side of the ball. He is the fourth defensive tackle the Tigers have landed from the portal.
