New Clemson Target Set to Announce Commitment

A second Clemson recruiting target will announce his college destination on Monday.

Three-star CB Brandon Leavell (Goodpasture Christian, TN) tells The Clemson Insider that he will announce a commitment at 7:30 p.m. Clemson, Florida State, Florida, NC State and Tennessee are the finalists. All five were scheduled to get official visits.

“I know exactly where I want to be,” Leavell told The Clemson Insider. “God is leading me in the right direction so I feel ready.”

The 6-foot-1 corner just picked up his offer from the Tigers after an unofficial visit earlier this month. That visit came together after cornerbacks coach Mike Reed made a stop at his school early on during the contact period. Reed was back at his high school last week.

“It was definitely different for the most part from everywhere else I have been,” Leavell told TCI after his offer. “First off, being able to send guys to the league. Coach Swinney has been there for quite some time, and he has been able to send the most guys to the league than any other coach. That was something I really got to look into and something I would say was very different.”

After picking up the offer, Leavell quickly made plans to be at the big official visit weekend, May 29-31. He was originally scheduled to be at Purdue that weekend.

“Even with them being a little late to the party, I do understand how they recruit,” he said. “Clemson is very different, and I think that is what stands out about them. That is why they are a school that I am very much considering.”

The Tigers already hold a commitment from one corner in the 2027 class, with three-star legacy recruit Christian Chancellor announcing a verbal pledge last summer.

Four-star safety target Jarrell Chandler is also set to announce a commitment on Monday.
