Peach State Wideout Cancels Clemson Official

One name has been scratched for one of Clemson’s official visit gatherings.

The Tigers are set to host their big official visit weekend beginning Friday, with a second smaller one scheduled for June 12-14.

Three-star wideout Taurean Rawlins (Mount Vernon, GA) has been slated to attend the later event. However, Rawlins has informed The Clemson Insider that the visit is now off. The Tigers had yet to officially offer. He made his first trip to campus for the spring game.

“The one thing that really stood out was how welcoming it was,” Rawlins told TCI after the visit. “You would have thought that I knew people way before that visit but I didn’t. It was just really nice. I am a pretty introverted person as it is, but it did not take me long to warm to everybody that was there. It just felt like a very welcoming atmosphere.”

With four-star receiver Jamarin Simmons announcing a commitment last week, Clemson now has two wideouts committed in the 2027 class. While one more is expected to be added, it won’t be Rawlins.

As a sophomore, the 6-foot wideout posted just under 1,400 receiving yards with 17 touchdown grabs. He averaged close to 21 yards per catch and 127 yards per game.
