There is one Clemson commit who is currently not on campus taking an official visit.
Four-star QB Kharim Hughley (Gainesville, GA) is out in Los Angeles this weekend competing in the Elite 11 finals alongside some of the best signal callers in the nation. The event is considered the premier quarterback competition among high school prospects. Cade Klubnik was named MVP of the event back in 2021.
Hughley earned an invite after an impressive showing in the Atlanta regional earlier this year. He is one of just 20 quarterbacks set to compete.
“Clemson four-star commit Kharim Hughley is not the tallest quarterback, but he’s filled out, and the ball pops. His deep balls early on have been very impressive and on time,” Rivals’ recruiting analyst Adam Gorney said after the event began late Friday.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder committed to Clemson last July, about a week after picking up his offer. He will take his official visit to Clemson during the second, smaller gathering, June 12-14.
As a junior, Hughley helped guide his high school team to an appearance in the 5A state title game in Georgia. While they fell short of winning it all, Hughley was a big part of the success that led to a 12-win season, throwing for 2,456 yards with 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 379 yards with eight more scores via his legs.
Rivals ranks Hughley No. 137 overall and No. 12 among all quarterbacks in the class. ESPN slots him No. 124 overall and No. 5 among dual-threat quarterbacks.
