Clemson’s surge on the recruiting trail continues, with the Tigers adding another blue-chip talent to the 2027 recruiting class.

Four-star DE Desmond Malpress (Atlantic Coast, FL) has announced a commitment, choosing Clemson over South Carolina, Florida State and Georgia Tech, among others. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is fresh off attending the Tigers’ big official visit weekend. The Gamecocks received one in early May, while the Seminoles and Yellow Jackets were scheduled to get officials later this month.

Malpress picked up his offer from the Tigers back in February. Rivals ranks him No. 134 overall, No. 12 among all edge rushers in the class and No. 14 in the state of Florida.

He becomes the second edge rusher to commit, joining fellow four-star Santana Harvey.
