Former Tiger Earns MVP Honors

A former Clemson standout and current pro basketball player has earned Most Valuable Player honors overseas once again.

Marcquise Reed was named the MVP of Turkey’s top division (the BSL) for the second straight year, following an outstanding campaign with Trabzonspor.

The 6-foot-3 guard led the league in scoring, averaging 23.4 points per game, to go with 5.2 assists and 1.9 steals per contest.

Overall, in his six professional seasons overseas, Reed has averaged 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game across 166 contests. In addition to being a two-time Turkish League MVP, Reed is a three-time Turkish League scoring champion (2024-26).

Prior to his impressive pro career in Europe, Reed enjoyed a strong career at Clemson over three seasons from 2016–2019, when he was a two-time All-ACC selection. He remains the Tigers’ all-time leader in free-throw percentage (85.9%) and finished his time as a Tiger with 1,484 points. He finished his career 12th on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list.
