A South Carolina football player has been arrested.
Redshirt sophomore running back Sam Williams-Dixon was arrested late Saturday and was charged with breaking into an automobile where fuel is stored, larceny between $2,000 and $10,000 and criminal conspiracy, according to multiple reports. As of early Sunday afternoon, Williams-Dixon was still being detained.
Williams-Dixon transferred to South Carolina back in January after spending his first two seasons at Ohio State. He had 10 carries for 62 yards during his two seasons as a Buckeye.
Williams-Dixon was one of three transfer running backs the Gamecocks signed. Christian Clark came over from Texas, while Jabree Coleman transferred from Penn State.
