The 2027 Overtime (OT7) Finals are being held this weekend in Los Angeles, and a member of Clemson’s current recruiting class is taking part. The OT7 is a fast-paced 7v7 high school league featuring some of the top high school players in the country.
Five-star wideout Jamarin Simmons is competing in the Finals, and on Saturday, the 5-foot-11 prospect was named one of the top performers of Day 2.
“The Clemson commit made a big splash to start the day, separating from four-star 2028 corner Nate Dollard on a vertical route for a full-field touchdown,” Charles Power of Rivals wrote. “He followed that up with a touchdown on a whip route in a goal-to-go situation. In his team’s second game of the day, Simmons got the best of Five-Star Plus+ cornerback John Meredith, turning the touted defender around on a post corner route for what was an easy pitch-and-catch touchdown. Simmons’ nuanced route-running allowed for him to create consistent separation, and his advanced ball skills present a catch radius that belies his size.
Simmons was the first receiver to pick up an offer from Clemson, earning one after an impressive outing at camp last summer.
As a junior, Simmons reeled in 59 catches for 932 yards with 14 touchdowns. He also went 2-of-2 passing for 120 yards with one touchdown throw.
Ranking No. 26 overall at Rivals, Simmons is the highest-ranked member of the Tigers’ 2027 recruiting class. He committed to Clemson in late May ahead of the big official weekend.
