A former Clemson hurler has found his new home.
Former Tiger Noah Samol announced a commitment to Austin-Peay on Sunday. He becomes the second former Clemson player to commit to the school, joining infielder Jay Dillard.
“I want to thank Clemson University for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love for 3 years,” Samol posted to social media. “For my final year of eligibility, I am excited to announce that I will be attending Austin Peay State University.”
The 6-foot-7 southpaw began his career at Georgia Tech, before transferring to Clemson ahead of the 2025 campaign. However, his career has been hampered by injuries. After missing his first year with the Yellow Jackets with an injury and redshirting, he was limited to just seven appearances during his debut season with the Tigers. He struggled with his command and had more walks than innings pitched. His ERA was 9.82.
This season, Samol once again made just seven appearances, and once again dealt with an injury to end the season. He finished 1-0 with an ERA of 4.76 in 11.1 innings pitched, with 14 strikeouts to just three walks. Opponents hit .255 against him.
