Brother of Clemson OL Announces Offer

Clemson has always liked to keep things in the family.

With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that 2028 four-star OL Reece Wilmes (Lawrence Free State, KS) has added an offer from the Tigers. He was the first OL in his class to go public with an offer.

“Extremely excited to say that following an amazing conversation with @CoachMattLuke, I’ve been offered a scholarship to play football at Clemson University,” he posted to social media.

Wilmes has deep family ties to Clemson, with his brother Braden being a current freshman OL on the team. His mother and one of his uncles are also Clemson alums.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder has been on campus numerous times now, with the most recent coming two weeks ago when he worked out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. It is the second consecutive summer Wilmes has camped at Clemson.

Wilmes already has more than a dozen offers, with Purdue, Iowa, Northwestern and Oregon being some of the more recent ones. Indiana, Nebraska and Wisconsin represent some of his other offers.

The Rivals Industry Rankings slot Wilmes No. 244 overall, No. 13 among all tackles in the class and No. 2 in the state of Kansas.
