Trevor Lawrence’s hair can be yours – the former Clemson quarterback’s fake hair, that is.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving away Lawrence’s wig that he used for their viral schedule release video.
Jacksonville is doing a “Win the Wig” sweepstakes for the style that Lawrence sported during the team’s schedule release video on May 14, where it looked like Lawrence cut his hair.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and registrations are open until 5 p.m. Friday.
The internet was fooled when the Jaguars released the video featuring Lawrence getting his iconic, long blond locks chopped off. It was later revealed to be a clever prank, as he was wearing a wig over his real hair, and the stylist actually cut the fake hair on camera, giving him a short-haired look.
“I think our team did a great job with the video,” Lawrence said, via ESPN. “I mean, the haircut wasn’t great. It didn’t look good, but it looked real.”
The next day, the Jags put all doubt to rest about the validity of the schedule release video, releasing a different, behind-the-scenes video showing Lawrence tucking his real hair under a wig cap and putting on the wig.
For anyone who might be wondering or worried about the status of Lawrence’s real hair, he confirmed he has no plans to get a real haircut – “not anytime soon.”
If Lawrence is superstitious, he shouldn’t want to shake up his hairdo after his stellar performance last season, when he enjoyed a career year. He completed 60.9 percent of his passes for 4,007 yards and a career-high 29 touchdown passes with 12 interceptions, and was named a finalist for Most Valuable Player, as well as Comeback Player of the Year, while leading the Jaguars (13-4 regular season) to their first AFC South title since 2022 and first playoff berth since 2022.
