Clemson Hands Out First QB Offers

Clemson has extended its first quarterback offers for the class of 2028.

Calhoun (Ga.) High School four-star Trace Hawkins and Lone Star High School (Frisco, Texas) three-star Trey Wright both announced offers from the Tigers via social media Sunday.

“After a great conversation with Coach Swinney. I am BLESSED to receive an offer from [Clemson Football],” Hawkins wrote.

“After a great conversation with Coach Swinney I am beyond blessed to say that I have received an offer from Clemson University,” Wright wrote.

Hawkins (6-1, 185) is a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, which ranks him as the No. 20 quarterback in his class and the No. 294 overall prospect nationally.

Hawkins lists more than a dozen total offers, including from schools such as Auburn, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Vanderbilt and SMU.

As a sophomore in 2025, Hawkins threw for 2,442 yards and 24 touchdowns with just three interceptions, while also rushing for 153 yards and three more scores on 31 carries.

Wright is the No. 28 QB and No. 366 overall prospect in the 2028 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder lists over two dozen offers, with Arizona, Baylor, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, TCU, UCLA, Utah and SMU some of the schools that have offered.

Wright passed for 4,042 yards and 38 touchdowns against seven interceptions as a sophomore in 2025, while adding 1,764 rushing yards and 16 scores on the ground.

Both quarterbacks worked out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp during the first week of June.
