Clemson Baseball Players Heading to Summer Leagues

Many current Clemson baseball players are either already playing summer league ball, or about to begin.

After missing almost all of ACC play with a broken hand, second baseman Jarren Purify is currently playing in the MLB Draft League, where he recently earned Player of the Week honors.

Several players are heading off to play in the prestigious Cape Cod League, which uses a wooden bat. Left-handed hurlers Brendan Bennett and Justin LeGuernic, as well as infielder Tyler Lichtenberger, will be headed up north. Right-handed pitcher Danny Nelson is also set to play in the Cape.

Several more are headed for destinations in the Coastal Plains League, another wooden bat summer league. Right-handed pitchers Chance Fitzgerald and Landon Fowler and infielder Jake Morris will spend their summers in the Midlands, suiting up for Lexington County. Outfielder Jackson Moore will be sporting hot pink as he is set to play for the Florence Flamingos.

Infielder Jackson Taylor is set to play in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

Right-handed pitcher Dylan Harrison has chosen to stay in Clemson all summer and work with the strength staff instead of playing summer ball. There is a detailed plan in place for Harrison, who just finished up his freshman season. Harrison, who is 6-foot-5, is already up to 230 pounds.
