Clemson Beats Out UGA to Land Priority Target

The Clemson recruiting heater continues as the Tigers have beaten out Georgia for one of the best defensive backs in the country.

Four-star Jayden Aparicio-Bailey (Prattville, AL) announced a commitment to Clemson on Saturday, choosing the Tigers over the Dawgs. Auburn and South Carolina were the other two finalists, but the talented defender ultimately canceled those official visits.

The 6-foot-2 prospect has long been on Clemson’s radar, picking up one of the Tigers’ opening offers last June. He worked out at camp last summer, returned for the season opener against LSU last year, then attended the Elite Retreat in March. His last appearance was for the big official visit weekend at the end of May. Georgia was the only other school to get an official visit.

While the recruiting services list Aparicio-Bailey as a safety, Clemson has recruited him as a cornerback, and he becomes the third corner to commit, joining three-star Bryant Robinson and three-star Christian Chancellor.

Aparicio-Bailey becomes the 24th member of the 2027 class which was ranked just outside the Top 10 before his announcement.

He is the 17th recruit to commit to Clemson since the middle of May, with Rivals ranking Aparicio-Bailey No. 117 overall and No. 4 in the state of Alabama.
